Georgia Sumner-Davis
Veterinary Physiotherapist
PGDip (Vet Physio), BPhty, NZAVPA, ANZAVPA, PNZ, Board Registered Physiotherapist
Georgia Sumner-Davis, founder of Head to Tail Veterinary Physiotherapy has over 5 years of practical experience as a small animal physiotherapist. During this time, as part of a collaborative team providing holistic care, she has worked closely with veterinary specialists and orthopaedic vets.
Georgia always knew she wanted to work with animals, beginning her journey with a Physiotherapy degree from Otago University in Dunedin. After 18 months working in public healthcare, she moved to the UK to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Hartpury University. Alongside her studies, she furthered her experience in human physiotherapy working in the NHS. This foundation allowed her to develop her manual techniques with clear verbal feedback from clients whilst grounding her practice in evidence-based care. Her background in human physiotherapy continues to guide her approach, bringing a thoughtful and informed perspective that she adapts to suit each individual case.
Georgia has a passion for helping and building relationships with animals. She values the time physiotherapy allows for thorough assessment and treatment, and finds reward in the challenge of gaining the trust of more reluctant animals. Georgia enjoys educating owners and empowering them with practical advice to support their pet’s care at home, recognising them as an essential part of the team. She is especially passionate about working alongside traditional veterinary care to help older animals stay comfortable, active, and engaged in life.
After 3 years working in Christchurch Georgia has set down roots in the Waikato and calls Raglan home. Outside of her career she enjoys horse riding, learning to surf, tramping and exploring with her partner Gavin.
